Dancing Queens

Sarah and Chloe both had their dance performances this past month. They had a great time dancing for the crowd. Chloe danced hip hop to "Jump". She did awesome! All the kids had a solo part where they got to do a stunt. Her move was the "coffee grinder".

Sarah danced jazz to "Cruella DeVil". She did fabulous! So many people commented on her great arms and how well she moved her body. In fact, she did so well (in both jazz and ballet) that she's graduated to the next level. She loved this costume too. Lots of feathers and sequins. It was the "most accessorized" out of all the classes. We had traces of feathers on our carpet for days. :)
Sarah also got to dance in her studio's production of The Nutcracker. She and her class were presents. Or maybe it was present bearers. They danced towards the end of Clara dreaming in her home before she goes to the Land of Sweets, so I think they were supposed to be presents- come-to-life. But they danced holding red gift boxes, and maybe my idea is a little too abstract for young kids, so maybe just present bearers. Anyway, she loved it and even had the only solo in the dance.

Both girls loved wearing their costumes and makeup. Both HATED getting their makeup washed off. Not because they were sad to have naked faces again, but because they hate getting any water, soap or makeup in their eyes. I use baby soap/shampoo to help with the stinging, but you'd think I was torturing them anyway! I won't go into the drama of doing their hair into buns. Chloe wasn't too bad. Sarah and I had several blow-ups. I'm not very patient when it comes to doing her hair and neither is she. Bad combination. Hopefully we'll do better for the next concert.
It's been fun watching them develop their talent and enjoy sharing it with others!

I wish I could be there to see them dance. They looked darling and I am glad that you could get there. It seems like Washington is getting pounded by the weather lately. Be safe!

The costumes alone make it worth it! I'm sad I missed it!
