Exercise, ugh!

I actually exercised yesterday. Not a lot. But some. I finally got my bum onto my recumbant bicycle and worked my legs, and bum, a bit. I am SO out of shape! It truly is pathetic. I don't really care if I lose weight, but I'd like to look better (and feel better) than I do. I'd also like to buy a new swimsuit this summer and actually feel like I deserve it. I'm hoping that by making this public, I'll have more motivation to keep it up.

My mom used to go to Curves and would go to the one here when she would come and visit. I can remember asking her once about it a year or so ago saying, "How was it?" Her answer, "Hateful! But at least I did it." Really? Ugh! Will I ever enjoy excercising? I never have before. It LOOKS so energizing and empowering, but whenever I do it, I feel sapped afterwards. Of course, I haven't excersized regularly since I was a sophomore in high school. That is probably the key. Doing it regularly and getting past the sap point. Well, here I go. And Christy, if I slack off, I give you permission to make fun of my cottage cheese at Bear Lake! If that's not motivation, I don't know what is!

I won't have anything to make fun of. I am quite sure of that. But you have permission to make fun of my sausage tied off at the middle look. Fair enough?

I have exercised in a small way on a fairly routine basis in the past. I just jog on a mini trampoline, but it does help my blood pressure when I do it regularly. Sadly, I completely quit while struggling with that kidney stone late summer/early fall. I tried to get back into it after recovering from surgery, but wasn't very successful. The past three weeks, I've exercised three times a week, which is an improvement, but my goal is five.

Good luck to you.

Awesome, Court! Can you read while you're exercising? That helps me pass the time and forget what I'm doing, that is, when I exercise. :)

Good for you! Just remember, if you overdo it, you will be sore and not want to do it again. Baby steps! Good job.

You should come to my body pump class to see if you like it. I think you can try it out for free. Let me know.

The most exercise I ever get is cleaning my house or walking up and down my stairs (both of which leave me winded right now), but I think the key is finding something fun to do. Indoor exercise equiptment is boring. Bellydancing is fun...it just looks a little silly when you're preggo.

Good for you Courtney! I totally agree with what Laura and Mag said in their comments. Start slow and take it easy....If you don't have a book or have trouble reading while exercising you could Tevo your favorite show and watch it while you work out.... (:
