Weekend Warriors

A few years ago, one of the shows I liked to watch on TLC was Weekend Warriors. A couple would tackle some home improvement project all in a weekend. This weekend, it was our turn to be Warriors. Brad came home on Friday and told me that this would probably be his last Saturday off for the rest of the year. He wanted to know which of our long list of projects he should try to get done. We decided to tackle the floor in the girls' room.
First we had to clean out the garage somewhat to make room for all the girls' stuff. Then we had to clear their room. I've been meaning to de-junk and organize their room before school starts, but as we moved out all of their stuff I realized how bad it really was. Here's a shot of the garage with most of their stuff crammed into it. (One of the wardrobes and their bed frames are out on the back deck.)And here are some before shots. Well, mostly before shots. Brad didn't take any of the yucky carpet. I don't know if that's because he didn't want to, or that it was just at this point that he remembered to take some pictures. I'm just glad he remembered!! For as much as I like to blog, you'd think I'd be better about remembering the camera by now!! Here's another before:
And after:
Ah! So pretty and so clean!
I'm sure I'll be taking extra trips downstairs to admire the floor (and their de-junked room) over the next few months!!
P.S. Anyone want to come over on Monday and help us (meaning Brad) move the piano back in?? :)

Lucky Girls! That is so pretty. Was it hard to install?

Wow. They have a piano in their room! How fun! No excuse for practicing then.

I'm glad you got to check that one off of your list. I bet the girls are glad too! It looks great. And Aaron can probably help with the piano.

No, it wasn't too hard to install, but the room is mainly a big rectangle. Not a lot of custom cuts.

And yes, the piano is in there. We couldn't ask anyone to attempt moving it upstairs (it is REALLY heavy) and it doesn't really fit upstairs anyway. When we first moved into the house, this wasn't their room though!

Wow! That looks awesome! Is it wood or Pergo? I want to do that in my kitchen and hall. You guys are amazing! We're moving so slowly at projects theses days, I wonder if we'll ever get another one done....and we really need to!!

I was wondering if you were going to leave the piano upstairs. Good luck!

It does look good...makes me want to get rid of my yucky carpet.
