Sewing Camp

Last week Sarah got the chance to go to sewing camp. (Thanks again, Annalia!!) It was every afternoon in a community center at a local park. She loved it! Sarah had been starting to show a bigger interest in sewing this summer, so the timing was perfect. She learned how to operate my sewing machine and got to make lots of fun projects.

Her first project was a pillow made with quilt squares. I'm glad she knows how to make these. I think they could be fun, homemade friend gifts for Christmas or birthdays. Then she made a tote bag. They sent her home with the instructions for this project too. Again, a fun gift idea!
This is a fleece pillowsham made to look like a puppy. She's been sleeping on this ever since she brought it home.

Her last project was a pair of jammie pants. She made these in one afternoon and they turned out great! It's hard to see the fabric in this picture, but it's got bright colored flowers and silly monkeys all over it. Very "Sarah" right now!
She had a great time and has asked if she can do it again next summer. Definitely!!
