Camping

Brad took the three oldest kids on the annual father and kids campout a couple of weeks ago.  He put Sarah in charge of the camera.  Here are the pictures:

Yep, that's right.  Two.  The first is of Chloe holding a salamander that her friend Davis found.  She was VERY excited about this.

I think the second picture speaks for itself.

They had a great time - although it rained a LOT during the night.  At least Brad knew it was going to rain and so he planned on them just sleeping in the truck.  It was overly warm and muggy, but at least they were dry.  The next day turned out to be sunny and beautiful, so they were able to have lots of fun there at the campground.  They rode the paddle boats out in the lake, ran around the obstacle courses a few times, and visited with friends.  Brad said that Kyle spent most of his play time up in the tree house with his friends Olivia and Bella playing house.  Kyle was, of course, the dad.  Brad said it was funny to listen to their "family" conversations.  Kids are cute.  This was Sarah's last year getting to go because next year she'll be a Young Woman!  I guess they have rules about young men and young women fraternizing at sleepovers.  I told her she will probably be in high demand next year for babysitting so that some of the moms can get together for a girls' night out.  She seemed okay with that alternative.

Aaah, Sarah is growing up! I can't believe she'll be in YWs, and yet I can because she's always seemed older than she is to me.

And I would have loved to eavesdrop on the kids playing house. I'm glad they all had so much fun! ;)

You got two more pictures than I did on my camera! ;-)

Yes - we'll have to plan another GNO for next year.

I can't believe Sarah will be a young woman soon either. I love the pictures. I love the reflection of childhood. Payton M was over yesterday and he and Noah played house for a bit with the pink Little People house. Boys will be boys?
