I knew they were working on designing playgrounds. Somehow I thought they were building their models a little at a time on their Quest days. Maybe I should have clued-in that she never mentioned working on them in class. Maybe I should have asked her more about it and been a more involved parent. Maybe Sarah should have been more proactive on her own. Regardless of the what-ifs, we now find ourselves with a huge project to assemble that is due on Tuesday.
Here is our timeline between now and then:
- Tomorrow: school until 3:30 pm, battle with typical Friday "don't want to do any schoolwork attitude"
- Saturday: church service project until noon combined with me at a hair appointment = unavailable parental help all morning
- Sunday: church until noon, possibly inviting another family over for dinner, plus we try not to do homework on Sundays (but we may have to make an exception in this case)
- Monday: school until 3:30, choir practice until 4:30, dinner, dance from 6:00-7:00, FHE
- Tuesday: it's due (and I'll probably have to drop it off for her because of its size)
And here I sit while she and Brad are talking about the hypotenuse of a triangle....

sorry Court, Unfortunately, I have the procrastinator genes too. I know Mom can lament with you. She spent many late nights up with me doing huge projects that were due.
Oh, Man. What a crazy weekend, don't cha think?
Ahahahahaha! Good luck! My mother helped me on many a last minute project. I know I've got my own coming up in the next several years. Abe testing for Quest in a couple of weeks. I guess just have her do as much as she can on her own.
Sorry...
You have years of this ahead of you! LOL
This sounds like a job for Super Dad! Yet another fantastic reason to be married to an engineer!
Yes, Courtney, I avoid pre-washing my quilt fabrics, because I like the puckering. ....but what I've noticed is that even vintage, very washed fabrics will pucker if you don't prewash your batting.
