Chloe is Terrific!

On Friday we went to the girls' school to see Chloe get an award - the Terrific Kid award! The Kiwanis club gives out these awards throughout the district. It is in recognition of demonstrating a posititve attitude, good character, and responsible citizenship. Elementary school kids get a certificate and a few other trinkets, but high school kids who win get a small scholarship. Anyway, each teacher recognizes two kids from their class and our Chloe was one of them! Sarah was a Terrific Kid when she was in 2nd grade, so it was a fun coincidence that Chloe won in her 2nd grade year as well.

This isn't a great picture, but you can see her with her hoodie tied around her waist. She's posing with some of the other 2nd grade winners, along with her teacher, Mr. J. The school invites the parents of the winners to come to the assembly. Usually when the kids come in and see their parents, it's a dead giveaway that they are getting an award. But we told the girls we were going to come to the assembly to see Sarah perform with the honor choir - so when Chloe saw us, she didn't suspect a thing. The second graders had all gone on a field trip that day (which Chloe had been so excited about), so for her, it was a great day! We love you Chloe, you are TERRIFIC!!
