Our cat, Little Man, is currently known as The Dumb Cat. Yesterday morning he was up on top of the piano and knocked over one of Chloe's snowglobes. Luckily, it was a small one; but still, water, glitter and glass were everywhere! Brad managed to get it cleaned up pretty well, but he wasn't happy seeing as it was right when we were supposed to be leaving to go to church. We're hoping that the water that seeped in under the keyboard doesn't end up doing any damage. Dumb Cat!
He also likes to shred our toilet paper. As a result, the tp in the downstairs bathroom is hidden away in the cupboard. But you can't reach it once you're sitting on the potty, so you have to remember to get it out before you sit down. I'm not sure the kids are too consistant with this. The tp in the upstairs bathroom is in the bottom drawer. (Reachable this time!) More than once we've had people over and I've forgotten, or almost forgotten, to tell them where to find it. I had someone tell me once that we were out of toilet paper after they were done using the bathroom. I went in later to put more in the drawer and found a drawer full. It was then that I realized that this person hadn't used the last of the tp, like I'd thought, but that they didn't think we had any at all! I felt really bad about them having to do the old drip-dry. We keep the door to our room shut so that The Dumb Cat can't get into our bathroom, but he's managed to sneak in and shred the paper more than once. The other day I was napping and he came in and started in on our roll. I was so mad! It had been such a long time since he'd even been around tp, that I didn't think he'd still want to shred it.
Last night I had a dream that The Dumb Cat figured out how to squeeze his way underneath the doors. This was slightly prompted by the way he squeezes under the baby gate at the top of the stairs. Dumb Cat likes to follow me around when he's looking for some love, to the point where I've accidentally stepped on him a few times. I was really frustrated in my dream because I just wanted to use the bathroom, but The Dumb Cat squeezed under the door and was bothering me to pet him while I was trying to use the facilities. I woke up pretty frustrated that I couldn't escape neither kids, nor cat, in order to go potty!! Good thing it was just a dream!
So that is life with our Dumb Cat. Overall he's really a good cat. He lets Aaron "pet" him and doesn't retaliate. (He will eventually walk away though - I guess he's not too dumb.) He sleeps most of the day now. And sometimes I really do enjoy petting him. Oh well!

Reason #4,369,245,365 why I won't have a pet. I am impressed with your patience. I figure it is for the safety of my children that I use every last bit of patience on them.
But I LOVE the dream. Isn't lovely that even in our sleep we can't use the facilities without visitors? What a nightmare!
P.S. I promise to send pics of Adam's head. I just keep forgetting.
That tp thing would drive me crazy too! I'm glad he's nice to Aaron though.
:)
Bart does the same thing. Although he doesnt go for the rolls on the holder, if there is a roll hanging around its shredded.
I use the wet flushable wipes more though now, much nicer on the bum :} Although I will admit far more expensive.
One thing you can do to keep him shredding btw is try spraying something on the area around the paper with a lemon / citrus smell.
Its better than the furniture being destroyed though :} we can only have leather with our cat as he destroyed the last sofa's
The joy an animal brings though - you can forgive a little tissue :}
btw we are seriously thinking of SLC over New Year.
