Visit with Big Grandpa

My dad came to visit us for a bit back at the beginning of this month. We hadn't seen him since last February so it was good to get a chance to visit. The girls were so excited that Big Grandpa was coming! Kyle wasn't too sure at first, but he warmed up to Grandpa after a bit. We started off by showing Grandpa all of the stuff they've been doing in school along with their report cards. Then after dinner it was on to lots of reading!

After the kids went to bed, the grownups watched the last of the Mariners/A's game. The Mariners won! Hooray! It was funny to have both of our home teams playing each other.

The next day we decided it would be fun to take the foot ferry from Port Orchard over to Bremerton and go out to lunch. The kids thought taking the ferry was awesome! We've never ridden it before. Well, the kids and I hadn't. Brad rides it to work whenever he doesn't take the motorcycle, so he's an old pro. I think Dad thought it was fun too. How often do you get to ride a ferry to go to lunch?

After lunch we stopped at the waterfront park in Port Orchard. Then we went home and put Kyle down for his (much needed) nap. Then Chloe and Grandpa continued playing the new version of hangman. Instead of hanging a man, they would draw parts of a funny face for incorrect guesses. The girls did this with Grandpa for quite a while that morning. Chloe especially really seemed to enjoy it. She had the advantage though as some of her words were spelled in her unique way!
