Happy Birthday Sarah!

Happy Birthday Sarah! We are posting a bit late, but I wanted to wait until after her party so we'd have all the pictures. This picture on the left is of her after school. She is wearing her Happy Birthday banner she got from her teacher as a crown. It was pretty cute. Also notice the wavy hair. She let me braid it the day before and she kept her braids in ALL day so that she would have wavy hair on her b'day. She let me do it again a couple of days later. This is a HUGE step for her because she truly has issues about her hair. Anyways.... This other is a picture of Sarah holding her banner. We've had it on display ever since.

Here is Sarah with her funfetti cake. We had french toast and sausage for dinner. Brent and Ashley came over to help us celebrate. After dinner she got to open her gifts. She got a renewed American Girl magazine subscription, the book Frindle, a couple of shirts, a purse, a couple of games, and some scrapbooking supplies. She's already had one activity that she wants to scrapbook.

Yesterday was Sarah's friend party. It was a Tinkerbell theme. We had pizza for lunch and then played a couple of games. We played a relay race where I put vaseline on their noses. Then they had to get a cotton ball to stick to it and they had to move it across the room to a plate. The team with the most cotton balls won. They thought that was pretty silly - and at first thought the vaseline globbed on their nose was pretty gross! They also got to play outside on the swingset. It was a gorgeous day yesterday so the kids spent most of it outside. That doesn't happen too often here in the spring! All in all, Sarah says it's great to be 8!
