Tonight the girls gave Brad and I the night off from cooking dinner. They planned the menu and then kicked us out of the kitchen and living room so that they could prepare in secret. We waited anxiously to find out what we would be having. Normally, I would have put money on Sarah making pancakes, but I'd already sort of vetoed that idea. When we were finally allowed to come out, we were greeted with jazz hands, a beautifully set table and:
- mashed potatoes
- Ritz cracker and peanut butter sandwiches
- toast, cut into the shape of a heart, with melted cheese
- a secret recipe beverage (kool-aid and lemonade mixed)
I wish I'd thought to take a picture, but you'll just have to use your imagination. Here's a cute one of the girls instead:
Thanks girls! It's not what I would have made, but it was nice to have the night off!

That is the funniest menu ever! I love it - how cute are they for even thinking of giving you a night off! Too cute - Give them a big hug from me :-D
How sweet!!
Last year for mother's day my sister got (cold) oatmeal, a sucker and a cheese stick for her breakfast in bed meal. I think your menu sounds much better! =)
That is darling! I'm impressed they went through the work of making mashed potatoes! So cute. Congrats on the new baby coming too! So exciting, Court!!!!
So super cute!
Too cute! And they came up with it all by themselves. That's better than I can do most nights.
:)
So cute! And they got the food groups mostly covered, even: plenty of carbs, dairy, protein, and veggie. lemonade counts for fruit in my book! That's awesome. :)
that is beyond words adorable!! love it!! is that just a girl thing or would two boys think to do that?? :)!
