I went to a party where we dressed up like roller derby chicks. I was Mother of Hurl.
I look pretty tough, don't I? Look at how I intimidate my toddler and 11 year old!
Emma LOVES her daddy. She gets so excited every time she hears a motorcycle because she thinks it means Daddy is coming home.
We finally planted our grass. Here's the backyard after laying down seed. Looks promising, right?
Here's our backyard today. Overall, not bad if you're measuring on a Washington scale but not what we were hoping for. When it came time to seed, we were so sick of the project we didn't add all the compost that we had planned on. You can definitely tell which spots had added compost and which ones didn't. You can also kinda see the trench lines where the dirt was less compacted after the winter. *sigh*
It's good enough for the kids though. Once school is back in, we're going to top dress it with the compost we should have added this spring and overseed. Hopefully we'll get better results after that!
And we got a trampoline! The kids love it. They fight over it. It has, overall, been a great purchase. I think we have a pretty awesome backyard for the kids.

You are an awesome roller derby chick. And that backyard - I think it looks great for just a few months later. When you get all done it will looks amazing!
I think it looks great! One of my neighbors went and got a load of tagrow to top dress her yard and it got super-green. That would be a great thing to do right before it starts raining again. :)
